performance-intervention
collaboration with Carolyn Lambert
2003
This performance developed as an opportunity for dialogue about Pittsburgh's
geography and the city’s collective identity. The project was constructed
around the fictional premise of two private investigators and the public
interest group that hired them to search for Pittsburgh's legendary, underground
fourth river. By soliciting stories from the citizens of Pittsburgh, the
investigators became stewards of the legend and also part of that legend.
A local TV station carried the story without revealing our "true"
identity as artists.
